Message IE, if one pump goes the car will still operate fine, not under WOT but it would get you home. If I understand your description, in the paralelle setup one pump failing would mean one bank of cylinders gets no fuel while the other is unnefected.

The setup I am leaning towards now is two pumps with -6 out through the bulkhead, Y'ed into one -8 feed hardline up to the bay, then filtered, then Y'ed back down to two -6 braided hoses that feed the rails, with the returns Y'ed back together into the regulator, and back to the tank via another -8 hardline.

This should be basically the same as the Z1 setup (pictured), except that by having the minimum diameter at 1/2in vs 3/8 or 5/16 (whatever the ID of that brass fitting is) the pumps will not have to work as hard to maintain a given pressure, and the system will have more headroom. I know from sandblasting that the difference between 3/8 and 1/2 in hose on a system with the same load and supply is significant, so that's why I am leaning away from the Z1 setup.
